Hi, I’m Artemus Root—a self-published comedy author based in the county of Essex, where I live and work. Though I was born and raised here, I like to think I don’t quite fit the typical “Essex man” mould… apart from the occasional dropped aitch!

What I Write

I write comedy novels filled with absurd situations, eccentric characters, and unpredictable twists—all designed to keep you entertained from the first page to the last. My books—A Nice Rebellion, The Ghost Lovers Dance, and Six Numbers—are available on Amazon and have been well-received for their quirky humour and offbeat charm.

I love exploring the comedic side of everyday life, turning the mundane into something hilariously unexpected. My stories are character-driven, a little strange, and (I hope) laugh-out-loud funny.
